"When you handle books all day long, every new one is a friend and a temptation."
Trouble was, in the past I would come across books that looked great & I really wanted to read, but I could never remember them when I was ready for a new book. Enter my two favorite uses for technology: 1) the website Goodreads (Click here to see my profile-or make your own!) Here I keep track of books I want to read, books I have read, and connect to friends and see what they thought of books they've read & what's on their list to read in the future. LOVE It!

and 2) My Cell Phone camera. Yes, my cell phone camera. I tend to use my cell phone camera as a notebook much more than as an actual photographic tool. Whenever I'm browsing through the book section (and that's EVERY time I'm in a store that sells books) I snap pictures of books that catch my eye. Then I put them on my good reads list, or request them from the library, or when I'm looking for my next read I flip through the pictures on my phone.
Here's what I've added over the last month.

What's on your list of Upcoming Reads?
I'm always looking for more books to add to my list!

I enjoy Goodreads, too. And your cell phon camera idea? Really smart!
=)
I love Elizabeth Kostova! Her writing is so classical. That was one of my favorite books last summer (The Historian).
My way to handle it is to just add a book I am interested in to my Amazon shopping list and when I get a few in there, I place an order.
I have more books than any sane woman should own, but I never run out of good reading material!
Love your list by the way, adding a few to Amazon as soon as I post this!
Happy reading!
I think that you need a Kindle! You can preview books before your purchase them and they re considerably cheaper. Also you always have them.
I love good reads. I love that I can put books I hear about there...plus check out what my friend have read or are reading. It's great!
PS always good to find other lds bloggers out there.
Using the cell phone camera is brilliant! I'm always looking for the next book in a series, but can't remember the author when I'm in the bookstore. Now, I can just look at a picture of the current book and find the next in line.
I love it. I only read books that friends tell me about and then I put them through 50 questions, seriously. I want to make sure its worth my time on all levels. But when i zo read, I love it and want to read more
I've never heard of Goodreads but i'm going to go check it out. It sounds perfect! I think my husband might enjoy that, too!
Sometimes I think I could spend all of my free time in bookstores...and never get bored.
Thanks for a fun stop today on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "U".
