**Seek**

I haven't put pen to paper, or in this case, finger to keyboard, and committed to my word for 2010.  This is the form my New Year's Resolutions take, you see, rather than a list of goals and ideals I like to choose 1 word, or idea, 1 focus for myself.  This year I have chosen the  word "SEEK."  Last year I chose Listen, and I tried hard to listen more to my children, my spouse, my friends and especially the Lord.  As I found myself focusing on truly listening I found my relationships improving, and myself changing.  Listening instead of hearing has profoundly changed the way I live.  A few months ago I found myself with a growing desire to have more out of this change, it wasn't enough to listen anymore, I couldn't define what was wrong, but I knew there was more just around the bend, if only I could find the way there.

I found the beginnings of the path around that bend in road in October 2009's General Conference, especially as I listened to Elder Robert D. Hales and Elder Russell M. Nelson speak.  I pondered on their talks, reviewing them as they were posted on http://www.lds.org/ and again when the November 2009 Ensign Magazine arrived in my mailbox.

SEEK
Such a concept, to be active, to search knowledge and not wait for it to arrive.  To look for, and find inspiration, revelation, knowledge, and more.  To not just LISTEN to the spirit, but actively engage in finding it, and having it in my life.

SEEK
All that I want from 2010 can be found in this one word.  I want to seek out in every part of my life the best I can find, and not sit idly by waiting for something to present itself.  I will seek out of the best books, I will seek the spirit, I will seek a better understanding of my children,  I will seek to know the Lord's will for me, I wll Seek to find all that He would have me do, and I will do it.  Because seeking isn't just looking, it's a verb, it means ACTION.

I hadn't known about the one word thing. I like it. Deep like the friend you are. OK, the other part of SEEK is FIND--please share what you FIND along your journey of SEEKING. -J
