Update....and Amazing Corn on the Cob

Officially I've been employed for one week, and it's been a long, tiring week!  I have no idea how single moms, or even married moms working full time maintain this kind of schedule and keep their sanity.  Props to all of them who raise healthy productive kids!

I'm up about 5 am, and get ready, do whatever household stuff I need to take care of (but Jeff & the kids have taken the lion's share of that side of things right now).  I leave about 5 after 6, and get to work and log into the computer ready to go by 7.  Commute=UGH!  Jeff mans the morning shift alone, including Sage's hair.  I tease them because it's mostly been headbands until today when he branched out and did a pony tail!  Sage is VERY particular about her hair being pulled back-it must be 100% smooth, absolutely no spaces or bumps anywhere.  So I was impressed he managed to pull it off to her satisfaction!

I get two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch and otherwise I'm in a classroom learning and studying and testing until 3 p.m.  Then it's time to hit the road and come home. Kiefer & Quinn get home around 2:45, Tate around 3:10 and Thane and Sage around 3:45, so it works out well.  Sometimes dinner is in the crock pot, sometimes I go on homework check and chore round up and then make dinner.  It's tiring!  Jeff has made dinner twice, and that's a good split I think.  I train for about another month, and then work from home.

We did a "bid" for our first shift, it goes from November 1-early January, I will be working just two weeknights, getting off at 7.  So not great, but better than most of the shifts! We got our bid by age, with the oldest in the class getting first choice, and then moving down.  I was about the middle of the group, 18 out of 36.  The youngest ones in the class were crying age discrimination, but no one listened.  I felt bad for them, they are college kids with loads of homework and some have heavy class loads.  And they got the shifts no one waned, late nights, and major weekend nights.  We bid again for shifts next month for January-March, this time we will be in with all the reservation agents, so we'll see what kind of shift I get then.

Meanwhile our brother-in-law gave us a heads up on FREE all you can pick corn on the cob, and it was amazing.  He also introduced us to this yummy way to eat it, and we ate and ate and ate until we were sick from eating so much corn on the cob!

1-here's what you need:
*Butter or Smart Balance  (either way is so good!)
*Salt
*Chili Fruit & Veggie Seasoning (found in Latin section of Grocery store)
*Lime
This is our lime juicer, easiest way to juice a lemon or lime
 in action....
First butter, then salt, then chili seasonings, then squeeze lime juice over it all...divine....
