Today is my Mom's birthday, she passed away five years ago this month, so this is my way of remembering her and enjoying (and sharing) some pictures of days long gone, and the love that still holds true. Here she is with her brother, aren't they cute? Something so fabulous about the clothes, and the sweet innocence of these pictures, I love them!
And as a majorette in high school, I love thinking about her like this, young and loving life. So excited to be heading out to march in the parade (the Christmas parade it looks like).
And here she is in front of her boyfriend's house (my Dad) love the tilt of her head, and that great car!On her wedding day, she married in 1959-gotta love that ball gown style skirt and the long gloves-just like a princess. My sister blew this one up and gave it to all of us at Mom's memorial service. I love it, it hangs in my dining room.
Mom & Dad leaving their wedding, that car is just so cool! And here they are with their parents, such style. I love the way my father's parents have their fingers linked.
And below, before they had kids, enjoying a little ski vacation.
This one seems a little distorted, I'm not sure why-but she's teaching my two oldest how to use sparklers. She was an amazing Grandma. And here, two years before she passed away. She had always wanted to take all her kids and their families to Disneyland, and that dream came true. Each family is wearing a different color shirt-my family is in the red.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
Above all my mom was about family, she loved her family and gave her all to every one of her children and grandchildren. She loved my children in a way they will never forget, and will always treasure.

I will always remember the legacy of love you gave to each of us.

There is no better legacy to leave than one of love. Happy Birthday to mom, glad you have such wonderful photos & memories of her.
What a wonderful tribute to your mother. I love all of the old pictures (and the new ones). That's how I remember my parents and my early years. Thanks so much for sharing
Very touching. This brought a lump in my throat.
So touching. A wonderful tribute.

I can't believe how much Kiefer looks like Thane in that picture. I've never thought that before.
Five years. Wow. It doesn't seem like it's been that long.
What a beautiful post.
What a magnificent woman and legacy. I see where you get your spirit, compassion and love from.
Thank you for sharing a little bit about your Mom.
Sending you a giant hug along with your A+ this week.
This is such a heart-warming tribute to your mom! Thank you for sharing these photos and words.
What a beautiful post, and how sweet of you to share. I love looking at old photos of family members, thinking about what they must've been like when they were young. It's so great that you have such nice pictures of your Mom to cherish.
what a wonderful tribute to your mom ... and i love the photos of her ... that wedding dress was gorgeous!
I just keep crying as I read the posts this week. This is such a wonderful birthday tribute to your mom.
I love your post. It was wonderful to read about such a special lady.
Please stop by and check out my L post. It will be up tomorrow.
Happy Birthday to your mom! I didn't realize when we were out at lunch today that it was your mom's special day. She raised a fabulous daughter!! Your life is the best tribute she could get.
What a wonderful legacy! Your family is truly blessed.
This was a beautiful tribute to your mother and I am sure she passed on her spirit and sense of family to all her children. I,especially, love that picture of the whole gang at Disney, each clan in their own colored shirts.
So, I'm getting all teary eyed out here in the mountains. What a sweet remembrance! I lost my sweet dear mother this summer..I'll never forget her love either.
I hope my kids and grandkids have memories of me like this...
This one really got to me. I love the photos and feeling of family your post evoked. And what a beautiful tribute to your mom.
=)
PS. Mine is 83, and she is and always will be a keeper, too. And what a darling bride and groom your parents made! (With his parents being the perfect example in linking fingers...)
LOVE IT ALL!
Oh I loved this! She seems like an amazing woman, and you did her proud in this tribute.
Beautiful memorial to your mother!
What a beautiful testament! I loved all the pictures. I hope to be that kind of Grandma some day! I grew up with no grandparents. I so envy people that did have grandparents, and it is annoying to me, when today's generation seems to not care one way or another about grand parents. (not all of them but you know what i mean)
Surely you and your siblings were blessed!
Susan
