Here is the official synopsis: Helicopter pilot Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is part of a top-secret military operation that enables him to experience the last few minutes in the life of Sean Fentress, a man who died in a commuter-train explosion. The purpose of Colter's mission is to learn the identity of the bomber and prevent a similar catastrophe. As Colter lives Sean's final moments, he becomes more certain that he can prevent the first tragedy from occurring -- as long as he doesn't run out of time.
It is rated PG-13 and has repeated violence (the train blows up repeatedly, there are shots fired, and some blood ensues), it has some disturbing images, and there is mild language-relatively mild that is-with only 1 use I can remember of strong language.
And it was fabulous! The best movie I've seen all year. It made me think-not in a hurt my head kind of thinking, but a really good, life is meaningful kind of way. At least for me, this movie was about more than the possiblities (or impossibilities) of science and technology in the future. I've spoken with some people and read some reviews where they just didn't follow me in this line of thought, but it doesn't really matter in the big picture. What matters is this is a good movie, and if you like science fiction-not the alien encounters or the robot zombie kind-but the where is technology taking us kind- you will like this movie. If you don't agree, I'd love to hear your review.
For me, this was an amazing journey into the possibilities of the mind, and what one person can do. It's also a really great twist of science fiction and action, I think these may be my favorite genre of movie-if that is a genre! It keeps my mind engaged trying to figure out the twists and plot lines while entertaining me at the same time.

Thanks for the movie review- we don't go to the movies as often as I would like, and it's good to know which movies to see (and which to avoid) form real people and not those crazy critic people.
If I'm lucky we'll actually go see this movie and I'll tell you what I thought.
